Maker’s Mark with a French twist, this was the first new Maker’s Mark Recipe in over half a century. Aged with custom char French oak staves.

It starts with fully matured Maker’s Mark® straight out of the barrel. But then it takes a bold twist. We add seared French Oak staves to the barrel, and then age it a bit longer – only in winter, when bourbon matures more slowly. The result is a whisky with bolder, more complex flavors, but one whose every sip delivers the smooth, approachable whisky that Maker’s Mark® is famous for.

Maker’s Mark 46 Bourbon Whisky

Maker’s Mark 46 is a premium Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from the iconic Maker’s Mark distillery, finished with seared French oak staves for enhanced depth and smoothness at 94 proof. Created by Bill Samuels Jr. as the first major new expression since 1958, it builds on the original wheated mash bill (70% corn, 16% red winter wheat, 14% malted barley) by aging cask-strength bourbon with “Stave Profile No. 46” in limestone cellars. Product Description

Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky on the distillery’s production line, sealed with red wax.

The process starts with fully matured Maker’s Mark at cask strength, rested nine weeks with ten specially seared French oak staves to amplify flavors without full cask finishing. This yields a bolder, creamier profile than the standard 90-proof Maker’s Mark, with hand-dipped red wax seals maintaining brand tradition. It’s versatile for sipping neat, on rocks, or cocktails, offering balanced complexity.

This production line image captures the essence of Maker’s Mark craftsmanship, highlighting the signature red wax seals on their distinctive bottles.

Finish is velvety long with mild drying oak, clove, and faint menthol. Maker’s Mark 46 Bourbon.
